PyraBang • Frequently Asked Questions

Joining PyraBang

Q. What is PyraBang?

A. It's the New Media! PyraBang is a brand new science called "information economy."

Imagine a world where anyone is able to almost instantly inform everyone else about breaking news, revolutionary new products and services that improve their lives without having to go through the bottleneck that is the main stream media! Imagine also a world where it costs nothing, or you actually make a profit by getting the word out! That is what we are creating with PyraBang!

If you need to ask a question that is not on this page we are available 24-7 from the contact link at the bottom of every page or the shout on your welcome page. You also call us at (603) 397-3443.

Q. What do i get when I join PyraBang?

A. It depends on who you are.

If you feel the main steam media is only telling us what they want us to hear:
   • You have a voice on an network committed to the free flow of information.

If you want to be part of the next wave in human communication:
   • Information circulates based on the value of the information itself, not the search engine ranking.

If you are an advertiser that wants to get your information out at a net cost of FREE:
   • Other members will actually help circulate valuable information at no additional cost to you!

If you are a journalist who is or would like to be independent:
   • Our system gives you the ability to make real cash money from your reports, stories and investigations. As our membership grows and more people are utilizing the micro-economy to circulate their information your paycheck will go up with no additional effort on your part!

Q. Can I join PyraBang for free?

A. Our Basic Memberships are free. Instead of "bumping" posts on other sites, you can post on PyraBang and when Gold Members (who are like the editors) invest in them, your posts get exposure on 100s of websites!

Q. What's the difference between "Basic" and "Gold" members?

A. Basic Members can post on PyraBang just like on Stumbleupon, Digg, Reddit and others. The differences are Basic members make $3.00 each time a member they signed up goes Gold. They make a 10% bang profit off of every investment in their posts. Literally Basic Members make money for nothing!

Gold Members decide which posts should circulate on the network. Gold members make a $12.00 bonus when someone they sponsored goes Gold. Gold Members make a 20% commission on investments in their posts. Gold Members can also purchase up to $12.00 (12,000 bangs) in extra bangs per month. They also make $0.50 monthly commissions on anyone in their group who has been Gold for longer than one month. All this for a whooping $5.95 per month! Since we boast over a 90% retention rate in Gold membership, the residual benefit could last a lifetime.

Q. Why can't I go Gold after enough people are in my group to cover the membership?

A. It would never happen. Since Gold Members jump Basic Members as soon as they go gold, Basic members will never see a growth in their income from members that jump them. So go Gold and protect your position at the same time!

Q. How do I become a Basic Member?

A. Easy! Fill out the 10-Second sign-up box on this page. Then start posting!

Q. How do I become a Gold Member?

A. Gold Membership is $5.95 per month. We currently accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and Paypal. We use Authorize.Net and also PayPal.Com as our payment gateways. You can deposit to your on-site balance via any of these methods. If you're already a Basic member then click here for the subscription form to upgrade to Gold! PyraBang checks onsite accounts on a daily basis for memberships which are due. You may also send a money order ($3.00 processing fee) to the following address:

PyraBang Inc.
2433 Butlin Dr.
Beloit WI. 53511

credit card logos

Q. What is an on-site account?

A. An on-site account is where you can keep a credit balance for up front membership dues or bang conversion, and also where we deposit your commissions and bonuses, this keeps our costs low however we do not want this to get out of hand. You are encouraged to withdraw anything you do not plan to use for membership dues when your balance exceeds $10.00 through available methods.

Q. What kind of support is available if I need help?

A. We are available 24-7 via email, response time is usually less than a few hours. You can also reach us by skype or phone if you need something immediately.

Q. How do I submit a new question to be added to this page?

A. Please submit your question at the contact form, it will be addressed as soon as possible.

General Questions

Q. What is a bang?

A. The "bang" is PyraBang's base form of currency. One bang is equal to one tenth of a cent or $0.001.

Q. How do I put my website or bookmark on PyraBang?

A. On this page is a video that demonstrates how to post something on the network.

Q. What makes PyraBang different than other traffic producing sites?

A. PyraBang is not just a website. PyraBang is a network of 100's of websites that produce millions of impressions of it's member's information every week!

Q. Is there a way I can search through everything that's been posted?

A. This is one of the best things about PyraBang. You have complete access to information real people thought was valuable! You can search by category or post id, or just what's in your portfolio.

Q. How can you give away your service for free?

A. The only objection we've ever recieved about our network is "I just don't understand it." By letting you use Basic services for free you'll see how easy it is to learn a new way to get your information! Once you know how it works, you'll like it!

Q. How can I advertise for 'less than free?'

A. Members host information on their websites with PyraWords and in their email footer with PyraMail. Every time a post is clicked on these members (Gold Members) have a chance to make $12.00. If this new referral joins the network, the member receives a $12.00 bonus plus $0.50 after their third month for as long as they remain an active member! The member who posted the information gets 1 bang from the member who hosts it. This creates a system where the advertiser can actually get paid to advertise!

Q. Can I trade in my bangs for real money?

A. Absolutely, bangs are real money and you can convert them to cash. You have a dollar balance and a bang balance. You can transfer bangs back and fourth.

Q. Why is there a limit on the amount of bangs I can purchase every month?

A. You will be able to purchase a maximum of 12,000 extra bangs per month ($12.00). This protects mom and pop from the multinational corporation!

Q. Why would I pay money for something I can get for free elsewhere?

A. Instead of "bumping" posts on other sites, when you invest in your post on PyraBang it circulates through our network of 100s of websites. By financially motivating our members to provide content, you're much more likely to get important information. One very good reason, is because free sites do not pay you for telling others about it.

Posting Information

Q. What is a "framebuster"?

A. After you click on the "Preview your post" button there are occasions when our buttons will be swallowed up by the url you are posting. This is called a "framebuster." Webmasters use it on their websites so no one can frame their content. We are not allowing the posting of frame busters because they "steals" our buttons and defeat the purpose of rating content. We plan to write an exception script for folks that would like to frame bust but also allow PyraBang to frame their sites.

Q. Now that I've posted information how does anyone else see it?

A. There are a few different ways. Members can search the search engine from the upper right corner of any page when logged in. Your information will be shown on the welcome page instantly as a recent post. It can also make the front page if it gets into the top viewed posts. All of these ways are bonus impressions. They do not count against your allocation. We have a network of now close to 300 websites that use "Pyrawords" and many of our members use "PyraMail." this has created a network which has produced over 36,183,264 impressions of our member's information!

Q. What is an originator?

A. An originator is someone who posts information on PyraBang. If the originator is a Gold Member he/she is also an investor.

Q. What is an investor?

A. An investor is either a Gold Member who posts information (and invests in it when he/she posts), or someone who invests in someone else's information.

Q. Is there a limit on posting for Basic Members?

A. Absolutely not, post as many links at you want. The membership will decide which ones are valuable and which ones should be circulated on the network.

Q. Can I make bangs as a Basic Member?

A. Yes! If a Gold Member invests in one of your posts, you make a 10% bang profit. Once your post has an investor it will circulate on our PyraBang network of 100s of sites and email accounts who use PyraWords and PyraMail.

Q. What are impressions (IMP)?

A. Impressions are the amount of times your post has been shown in PyraWords or PyraMail.

Q. What is allocation (ALC)?

A. The relevant webster definition is: to apportion for a specific purpose. Allocation is future impressions of your post. This is how we determine the "shelf life" of the information you provide to the network. Allocation can be increased or decreased by other members depending on whether they report, scrap, forward, tip or invest on a post. It is set by the number of bangs you post with times a "investing multiplier" which is a complicated formula based on the total allocation of all posts, average daily total impressions and amount of posts on the network.

Right now because our network is so large and our membership is relatively small your information is circulated over and over, a really unheard of amount of impressions for less than one penny. Taking advantage of the network now rather than later is therefore a pretty good idea!

Q. What is an "information portfolio?"

A. Your information portfolio on PyraBang is where you keep tabs on all of the items you've posted. You can see how much allocation they have, (ALC) impressions, (IMP) the original amount of bangs you invested, (ORG) and their value right now (NOW). You can also see the number of investors (NOI), your share of the post (%) and the category and date it was posted or reposted.

Q. I just paid 10 bangs to post something but you only took two, why?

A. When you post news or an advertisement on PyraBang, we add 80% of your bangs to the post's value. That post can then accumulate more bangs and increase in value as it circulates through the network at no extra cost to you. When other members invest in your post you receive 20% of their investment!

Q. Won't someone get upset if people are making money off of their website?

A. The best way to answer this question is with a couple of questions. If you have a website, isn't it because you want people to visit it? Would you be mad if someone made $1000 by driving one million hits to your website?

Q. Isn't posting a link to copyrighted material copyright infringement?

A. No. Copyright infringement is when you copy their material and, for example, put that material on your own website. Posting a link to someone's copyrighted material is simply advertising that someone is making their copyrighted material accessible to the public.

Q. Can I edit my posts?

A. Yes you may. You can edit the heading, description, category and everything but the primary domain in the url. We do in fact encourage editing. Learning how to create a good headling, and a compelling description is one of the side effects of being a good "news hound" on PyraBang!

Q. Why can't I change my primary domain?

A. Some posts will build up a massive amount of allocation and go on almost indefintely without every being reposted. The primary domain restriction is to allow you to make a correction to your url, but not deter you from changing, for example, to a product you're selling that would never build up that allocation on it's own. In that case you would need to make a completely new post and have it build allocation on it's own merits.

Q. Why do I have to re-post my posts?

A. Some posts stay active for a very long time. Other posts expire quickly. When your post runs out of allocation, you will see a "repost" link in your portfolio. You can then choose to invest more in that posts circulation or cash it in. A good rule of thumb is if you have to repost it over and over you would probably be better off investing those bangs in a different post! Unless you are selling a product? However if our membership doesn't like your product maybe you should try to sell something else? Posts for legitimate worthwhile products usually last quite a long time on our network with no re-investment required.

Q. Can I cash in my posts?

A. Absolutely, that's pretty much the point. People actually make money by spreading information. This will increase the amount of independent journalists, reporters and just average web surfers who want to get the word out about what they know or what their opinions are about different subjects. You pay a 10% commission when you cash in your post and can then either turn those bangs into cash or you can post something else to the network and do it all over again!

PyraBang Network

Q. What are PyraWords?

A. Pyrawords is a snippet of html code you can put on your website that effectively increases the size and reach of the entire network. When you post something on the network, it can wind up on over 150 different websites and counting. If someone clicks on your PyraWords, you add 1/10 of a cent to the value of that post in return for a possible $12 signup. All you need is 1 in 12,000 to break even, and that's not even considering monthly residuals. Here is one example of PyraWords:

Q. What is PyraMail?

A. PyraMail works like PyraWords only the post is in your email footer. This puts the email footer that other companies profit on to work for you making income and spreading information.

Q. What is the "pony express" factor?

A. Normally when you post something on PyraBang. It shows up somewhere on our network of 100s of websites and then gets "back in line" to be shown again. If it is clicked on on another website or forwarded from the view page, it immediately get's shown again somewhere else. This creates a rapid fire process which ensures that a large majority of our membership and the visitors and recipients that they have contact with learn about this imporant news or revolutionary new product!

Q. How can I advertise for free?

A. Simple. Today if you post something on the network you'll get 2,630 impressions of your information for 10 bangs, which is 1 penny. Of that 10 bangs, you pay a 2 bang commission. The remaining 8 go into your information portfolio and you own 100% of the circulation of that post. You now have 2,630 chances to make back the 2 bang commission after that and you are making a profit. In fact you are not paying 1 penny you are actually only paying 2/10 of a cent!

Q. What if I don't have bangs in my account?

A. Even though you are hosting a post in PyraWords and PyraMail, ultimately it is the post that causes the click, and the person who posted it. If you cannot add a bang to the post's value then the person who posted it gets the referral and therefore the opportunity to make the $12.00 bonus if Gold, or a $3.00 bonus if they are a Basic Member.

Q. Can people who post the information in PyraWords get the signup?

A. Yes they can! Review the previous question and you'll see how that can happen!

Q. Can Basic Members get sign-ups through PyraWords and PyraMail?

A. Absolutely! Again please go up two questions for the answer.

Q. Will bangs be converted to cash automatically and vice-versa?

A. No and this is for your protection. This way you can keep a limited amount of bangs in your account if you choose. The only exception to this rule is when your membership is due. At that time both your dollar account and bang account will be checked to cover your membership.

Q. Can I control what goes in my PyraWords?

A. Yes you can. Our regular PyraWords right now are available with just your preferences or even just what's in your information portfolio. The drawback to this is variety. The more variety you have the more there will be a chance that someone will click and hence get you more signup's.

Sponsorship

Q. What's the difference between a referral and a sponsee?

A. A referral is someone who has been referred by you and visited PyraBang but has not signed up. A sponsee is someone who has joined PyraBang in your sponsorship group that you personally referred to PyraBang.

Q. What are the rules of the Top Sponsor banner contest?

A. Top sponsor of the previous week who signs up the most new Gold Members themselves will control the banner space on top of PyraBang's entire website for one week! This website is currently averaging 20,000 - 30,000 hits per week! A new top sponsor will be chosen every friday!

RULES:

PIFs do not count!
You and your sponsees must be Gold Members.
Sponsees are chosen from midnight on Saturday to 11:59 PM Friday night.
Because of unreliable email providers, the winner is announced in the shout so please let us know you're here to accept!
Top Sponsor must supply all artwork for the banner and supply it within 7 days after winning.
Banner must comply with our terms of service.

Probably MANY rules to follow as people break them, just kidding! Good luck members!

Q. Can I use PyraBang posts to refer people to Pyrabang?

A. Yes! It's actually one of the best ways because you're sort of showing them how PyraBang works while referring them at the same time! If logged in, click on a post on the welcome page or after searching for one in the search engine. Then you can copy the link out of the view page, it looks similar to this:

http://www.pyrabang.com/view.php?ref=johnsmith&post_id=5511

You will notice that the name after "ref" is actually your username, you MUST USE LINKS WITH "REF" IN THEM in order to get credit for the referral. When someone clicks on this link and goes to view the content they will become your referral at PyraBang, and if they sign up, your sponsee!

Q. Can Basic Members sponsor people?

A. Yes! You receive a $3.00 bonus when someone you sponsor goes Gold. If you someone you sponsor brings someone else in who goes Gold, you'll receive a $0.00 bonus.

Q. How do I talk to someone I know about PyraBang?

A. It depends on the person. We must stress that the money making potential of PyraBang does not exist without a valuable service. The membership dues actually do pay for something tangible. Starting out any discussion with "You can get paid to..." is almost surely going to bomb out! This page is a great way to introduce people to PyraBang. When they do ask questions that aren't addressed here, please submit them at the contact form and we will get them posted right away.

Here's a great bit of text to send out in an email!

Hello my friend!

I've joined a network that is helping average people become the media. They are evening paying people to be a part of it. It's called PyraBang.Com, and what they have come up with is quite revolutionary!

It is a paradigm shift that makes advertiser controlled media obsolete! Advertisers are paid to promote legitimate products or services. Our members can invest in that advertising to increase it's circulation! Faulty products, un-reliable services and companies that "pull one over" on the public can’t survive in this system!

Q. Who is going to pay people to advertise to them?

A. PyraBang pays you up to 5000% to pay other people to get their message out!

Members advertise information not just products and services. They pay members to view information from other members. If someone views information, they pay 1/10 of a cent to the advertiser and make $12 per member who joins the network!

The network of 100's of websites use "ads by Google" like embeds to spread your information and is now over 36,183,264 impressions of our members “posts.” Over 536,248 “bangs” have been invested, and we are over 1,578 members strong.

Allow me to sponsor you into the network by clicking the link below:
https://www.pyrabang.com/go/JaneDoe

Or you can simply put JaneDoein the "invitation code" field of the sign-up box on the front page.

Q. What is an invitation code?

A. An invitation code is your sponsor's username on PyraBang. If your sponsor's username shows in the signup box or you do not have a sponsor, you do not need the invitation code. Simply leave it blank and fill in the other fields. If you would like to call your friends on the phone or raise them on the CB (truck drivers) you can now just give them your username and they can type it in the box to become your sponsee! Don't worry, the system will tell them if they spelled it wrong too! The invitation code overrides any previous sponsor requirement

Q. Why is the name in the 10 second signup box not the same as the link I clicked on?

A. Chances are you saw the person who sponsored you. Otherwise you have signed up and logged in (which clears that cookie) and someone else is now shown. This is for your own protection. We set up the PyraBang referral system on a "first come first served" basis. Your referrals are locked in by IP and cookie for 30 days even if they do not sign up right away. No one else can steal your referrals. Warning: Clicking on the following link will remove your sponsor requirement. Please do not click on it if the person who referred you IS shown in the sign up box on the front page, otherwise: remove sponsor requirement.

Q. How do I send someone directly to a certain page, and still have them as my referral?

A. If you look at the link in the address bar of whatever page you want to send your referrals too, you can paste the suffix of your referral link onto the end of that page's address. For example: If you want to send your referrals here, you would combine (http://pyrabang.com/faq.php) and then add on the suffix ( ?ref=JaneDoe) if your nickname is JaneDoe. The result would be:

http://pyrabang.com/faq.php?ref=JaneDoe

The one drawback to doing this is that if the suffix is wrong, you will be dependent on your referrals checking the name in the signup box to make sure you are their sponsor. Simply click on your link to test for yourself. If not this could be why.

Q. How much do I get paid?

A. As a Basic Member, you make a $3.00 bonus for signing up new Gold Members or when a basic member you signed up goes Gold. You can also make 10% off of every investment in your PyraBang posts but do not specifically own a share.

As a Gold Member, you make a $12.00 bonus from new Gold Members at the rate of $4.00 per month for three months. You'll also receive $0.50 monthly commissions on anyone in your group who's been Gold for more than 3 months. You'll make 10% bang commissions on all of your posts and you can invest in other member's posts. You can also participate in the upcoming "I feel lucky" lotteries where you can split the bang pot with PyraBang if you happen to land on something you posted. Many other benefits are coming soon so go GOLD right now don't miss out!

Q. How do I receive my commissions and bonuses?

A. On the first of every month, as long as your membership dues are paid, your bonuses and/or commissions will be deposited into your on-site balance. Gold Members MUST be Gold on the 1st of the month in order to receive their commissions. You can then withdraw your funds using PayPal or for an extra fee we are considering a paper check option.

Q. Do I have to pay my own taxes?

A. If you are required under the law, you must fill out a 1099 once you have made more than $600 in a calendar year with PyraBang. A 1099 is a tax form the IRS requires individuals and companies to send out who make payments to independent representatives. As an independent representative of PyraBang.Com you are responsible to pay your own taxes. PyraBang will not withhold taxes.

Q. How can I prove to people that this is not a "Pyramid Scheme?"

A. Due to the fact that our compensation plan has a multi-level structure, some people mistake it for a "pyramid scheme." Let's address this point by point...

Here is the definition of a pyramid scheme strait out of wiki: A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, usually without any product or service being delivered. It has been known to come under many guises. Some famous examples including the massive Albanian Pyramid Schemes of 1996[1] were technically not Pyramid schemes but Ponzi schemes.

Also from wiki: A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that involves paying abnormally high returns ("profits") to investors out of the money paid in by subsequent investors, rather than from net revenues generated by any real business. It is named after Charles Ponzi.[1]

1) "usually without any product or service being delivered"

PyraBang is a combination of many different products and services:

A premium internet content provider, filtered by actual people rather than computers.

An uncensored news source where important information rises to the top, and useless information expires quickly.

A premium search engine, returning results that real people felt was useful information.

An email provider that turns your footer that was making money for someone else into something that can make money for you.

A free market of information, anyone can post and no one is censored. (Within reason - no swearing can be tolerated due to your post showing up on people's websites.)

Make more money in the long run with the PyraBang Network as opposed to "ads by Google."

The ability to advertise news, products or services for "less than free."

The ability to help independent media by actually becoming the media yourself!

The potential to actually profit from your ad before any product is sold, which is unprecedented in history!

Help your existing business grow using the power of our network.

The list goes on and on and new uses for PyraBang come up all the time, but lets move on to the next point...

2) "a non-sustainable business model"

The larger our community grows, the more sustainable it becomes. As more people become available to monetarily rate content of all kinds the more our members will benefit from a vibrant micro-economy that can support all kinds of online businesses and other interests. Not only is PyraBang sustainable, it actually creates sustainability!

3) "involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people"

Although PyraBang does give out bonuses for signing up new members, this will not be the primary source of your income. By providing a valuable resource to our members at a very reasonable monthly fee, members that do join PyraBang by and large will stay members for an extended period of time, which creates a residual income that you can depend on.

4) "rather than from net revenues generated by any real business"

PyraBang collects revenues from post commissions in return for providing access to it's network. In response to those who say the last people to sign up with Pyrabang will not make money, there could theoretically be 6 billion people PyraBang. Just one decent article that goes viral on the network could at that point potentially make you a few thousand dollars!

5) "a fraudulent investment operation"

Membership dues are not an "investment." You are paying for a service in order to receive a benefit. PyraBang is not a fraudulent investment operation any more than your electric company is. (Ok maybe not such a good analogy seeing as energy should be free!)

6) "where the company takes 50% or more of the profits and the members are left with diminished profit potential"

Oh that's not in there? Well perhaps it should be! This is probably the worst part about a pyramid scheme! The company that is actually running the scheme gets over half of everyone's money and each representative is left fighting over the crumbs while they advertise the scheme to 100s of people! That's a pretty sweet deal for the company! This does not promote any kind of longevity or financial security for any of the representatives. In PyraBang our membership receives up to 95% of the membership dues through bonuses, commissions and a monthly bang allowance.

7) "sells products that are priced well over the going rate in order to create the illusion of buying products at 'cost' so that you can profit by selling them at 'retail' to your friends and family"

Nope, again that's not in there. However this is another trademark of a pyramid scheme, anyone ever try to sell a $200 water filter when your local department store sells them for $15? Anyway what happens is too many people get front-loaded with product they can't sell and therefore can't buy more of so the business implodes. This is a perfect example of a non-sustainable business model! With PyraBang members pay an extremely affordable $5.95 per month for use of the network.

Conclusion: (Hopefully this is enough evidence!)

As you can see by a point by point analysis of the definition of a "pyramid scheme," every aspect of the definition is not applicable in any way to Pyrabang. As a matter of fact, one of the reasons we named our community PyraBang is because it is the destruction (bang) of the typical stereotype (pyramid) of a money making opportunity. So what are you waiting for? Join us today so you can be rewarded as our community continues to grow!

Viewing Posts

Q. What's the difference between "views" and "bangs"?

A. Views does not equal bangs. Bangs are only given out by Gold Members, which makes up about 25% of our membership. If a Basic Member posts something, because the Basic Member has not invested anything in that post, the post has no value. In that case a view would be added and not a bang. Same goes for if a Basic Member views something. The Basic Member has no bangs to add to it's value. It is our information economy that will dry up the advertising dollars of big media. As more people realize that they will come on board.

Q. Is the information posted checked for accuracy?

A. We are not the judge of what others should see, hear and read. One of the biggest problems of the main stream media is through their "focus groups" and "sanitization" of information it has systematically de-activated the public's bulls**tometer! As in your off the internet life, on PyraBang it is up to you and you alone to judge the information as accurate, worthy or just plain rediculous! Don't worry, we have faith in you!

Q. Why do some posts that I view have more buttons than others?

A. Some posts do not include the scrap, forward and tip buttons. These are basically 'free' posts, they do not cost bangs to view, tip or forward. Posts that no longer have any investors, have been cashed in but remain in the search engine are free posts. Posts that basic members post but no Gold Member invests in are free posts. Posts that you have already viewed possibly long ago, you are not charged for again.

Q. What do the percentages on the posts mean?

A. Those are ratings. Members have the option to forward, tip, invest, do nothing, scrap or report on a post when they view it. The ratings for these actions are +1, +2, +3, -1, -2 and -3 respectively. The positive ratings and negative ratings are added up individually and a ratio is created. That is the rating of the post, a percentage.

Q. Can I invest in someone else's post?

A. Yes! When you invest in someone's post you will actually get a share of the circulation as well. You will be able to keep this in your portfolio and eventually turn it in for cash, bangs or otherwise be able to use those bangs again. Investing adds the same amount of allocation to a post that posting does.

Q. Does it cost bangs to view posts?

A. Basic members are not charged for viewing posts. Gold Members pitch into the information micro-economy and by adding a bang to posts submitted by other Gold Members or that have been invested in by Gold Members. It is this micro-contribution which produces the monetary incentive for people to provide our network with important information.

Q. Does it cost bangs to forward posts?

A. It does not cost any bangs to forward a post. If you are a Gold Member and it is not a free post you have already paid the bang once you have clicked on the post. It is then a free forward if you choose to do so. The reason to not instead charge a bang on the forward is because human nature would prevent some people from (yes we know it's just a tenth of a cent) adding a bang to the post unless under the most extreme conditions, and after all, it IS only a tenth of a cent!
